Dear Mario,
Feng Shui master Marlyna starts her Feng
Shui analysis report with "everything is energy". And I certainly agree.
Today (February 7th) is the first day the
Chinese New Year - the year of the clever, industrious Rat. I am told
this year is a good time to start new business ventures.
As the song goes, "I'm a believer". Since
we launched our Consulting Services department this January, we've had
many clients with interesting projects very excited about how Sector
can help.
You will also note that we have modified
our logo to better represent both our Learning Solutions and Consulting
Services. And we continue to evolve from a pure technical training
company to a company that improves our client's efficiency and
effectiveness through training (hard-skills and soft-skills) and
consulting.
Read on for details!

ConsultingServices:
by
John Meckbach
Consulting
is truly a way to get things done on time and within your existing
organizational skillsets.
Sector's
Consulting Services has added to this in a way that not many
organizations can... We build Solutions, we teach you how to use
them, and how to create your own solutions in the future! We prefer to
give you the knowledge and skills necessary to do your work effectively
and efficiently, while excellerating the process by building it up for
you at the beginning or as an ongoing support channel.
Often
client requests have turned into mutually-beneficial contracting
opportunities, and to that end, we have found this method of delivering
a solution immediately to satiate a need, while allowing the knowledge
to be transferred afterward, create a positive flow of energy in both
directions. Less stress, easier transitioning and a truly complete
solution can be developed to meet your needs.

Customer Service: We need to Hear from You!
We have
been asked by several clients for a Customer Service training program.
And who are
we to say "no"? (In fact we try to say "yes we can").
So we are
building an electronic survey and holding a focus group to gather
information from you, our Client, to see what your staff really needs:
customer service topics, delivery format, outcomes, interest, the whole
enchilada. We don't even know if we should call the course Client
Service or Customer Service!
But let's
face it. Whether you are serving internal or external clients, all day
or occasionally, we all need to be "customer service" oriented.
So, if you
would like to participate in our on-line survey, or attend our Focus
Group at the end of February, please contact Shelley Humble (shelley@sectorlearning.com or 250.727.2266).
Thank you
for letting us help you!

Creative
Problem Solving?
Last
November Roger Garriock of Destination Imagination was a keynote
speaker at VIATeC, alongside Murray Coell (Minister of Education and
Advanced Education). Destination Imagination is a non-profit that has
trained 20 million kids on innovation and creative problem solving.
Roger
delivered a hard hitting message about the importance of innovation in
BC Government and Businesses in order to allow us to compete in the
global economy, and live with the local skills shortage.
I took that
message to heart and got excited about the idea of adding Creativity
and Innovation training to what Sector Learning Solutions already
offers. Technical training to improve your efficiencies, Leadership
training to make sure your people are motivated and focussed, and
creativity training to help you find better ways of attracting people
and keeping your organization competitive.
So, I am in
the process of finalizing an agreement with DIcor, the Government and
Business training arm of Destination Imagination, to deliver their
world-renowned workshops.
Thank you,
Gerry
Brimacombe

| Welcome to 2008: the Year of the Earth Rat.
The year of
the Rat is here, starting with the new moon on Feb. 7th. The Rat is the
businessman of the Chinese Zodiac and this year is thought
to be overall a good year for business.
What is
Feng Shui? The cosmic trinity of Heaven, Earth and Mankind is
considered the fundamental framework of the universe. It is thought
that God works in a pattern language and the language is defined in
terms of yin and yang and the five phases of energy, wood, water,
metal, fire and earth. Heaven Energy is time and understanding how it
affects you. Earth Energy is your environment and Feng Shui is used to
create balance and harmony. Human Energy is your character, education,
attitude and good deeds, creating positive influences.
The Rat is a water element and this year he is paired with earth. This
is considered to be a year of work, activity and renewal. This is a
good year to make a fresh start and to start new projects.
Opportunities will come for people who are well prepared and
resourceful.
"Positive thoughts are like good software, they help us to perform to
the best of our abilities, believe positively that 2008 will be one of
the best years yet."
Marlyna
Los, Master Feng Shui Consultant and Astrologer, is trained in modern
as well as the classical methods of Feng Shui. She is certified through
several schools of Feng Shui and has traveled the world studying with
different masters.
May the
Year of the Rat bring you peace and light and many blessings!
