Sector Policies

Sector Learning Solutions has developed courses and programs intended to give people practical experience and mentorship, which will improve skills in the knowledge-based economy. All course components must be completed for ultimate success. Sector Learning Solutions has strict policies which must be adhered to; failure to comply could lead to probation and/or termination from training without refund.
Please read the following carefully so that you are fully aware of your responsibility in the program.

Entrance Qualifications:

Prior learning should be appropriate to the level of course enrolled into.
An interview with the Registrar or Instructor, or an online test, may be necessary to verify appropriate skill level.

Course Payments and Refunds

For short courses (5 days or less) the learner is required to pay in full at the beginning of the course.
For longer courses, the learner is required to pay at the end of the completion of each week.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Sector Learning Solutions delivers guaranteed learning at competitive prices. As such, our policies include penalties for cancellations and changes to registrations, especially near the start of the course when the facilities are already booked, manuals purchases, the instructor hired, and your seat reserved.

These policies may be waived or adjusted due to medical or family emergencies, solely at the discretion of Sector Learning Solutions Inc. For some specialty and partnership courses different policies may apply. Please check your course registration materials for details.

Course Registration Changes

Changing the date of a course or moving to a different course can usually be accommodated for our standard courses.
Up to 10 working days prior to the registered course date changes can be made with no penalty.
If a change request is received within 10 working days of the course date, a $40 change fee is payable.
A course can be rescheduled right up to the day before the course, if paid in full in advance, plus the abovementioned $40 change fee.

Cancellation

Registration in our standard course can be cancelled with no penalty up to 15 working days before the course starts.
If registration is cancelled up to five working days before the course, 50% of the course fee is payable.
For cancellations received less than five working days before the course, 100% of the course fee is payable.

Code of Conduct

Classroom Behaviour: The thoughts, opinions and work practices of others must be respected at all times. Disruptive, abusive or disrespectful behaviour will lead to probation and if continued will be followed by non-refundable termination.
Class Assignments: Sector programs are carefully developed to ensure success. All assignments must be completed for full credit.

Course Schedule Changes

Generally, for our standard offerings, we will run a class even if only one student is enrolled.
Sector Learning Solutions reserves the right to reschedule courses where it deems necessary, this will only happen if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the learners, or due to instructor illness or other force majeur.

Courseware

Courseware will be issued during the program, as required, provided that payments are being met according to the Payment Agreement.

Course Completion Certificates

Completion Certificates will be issued after each module, to clients who have attended each full day of classroom training. A certificate of completion will only be issued, provided that all assignments and labs pertaining to that module have been completed, and that all the required criteria have been met.
Industry Certification, if relevant, will only be granted when all exams and criteria as set down by the Certification vendor has been achieved. Sector Learning Solutions cannot be held responsible if these criteria are not fulfilled. This is optional and does not form a requirement of the program.

Facilities

Sector Learning Solutions provides tea, coffee, and snacks for client use. Please ensure these areas are kept clean and adhere to professional behaviour at all times.
Sector Learning Solutions will not be responsible for any personal items left in the Learning Centre.
Footwear must also be worn at all times within the building.
Under BC law, smoking is prohibited within the premises.

Dispute Resolution Policy

We will always try to resolve issues informally. If a more formal approach becomes necessary, Sector Learning Solutions provides a fair and reasonable mechanism for resolution. Dispute Resolution Procedure:

Step 1 - We will first try to resolve the issue directly. If this doesn't work...
Step 2 - Put your complaint in writing to Kathy Saunders, Program Coordinator. She will request submissions from all involved parties, including witnesses; conduct an investigation and set up a meeting within 48 hours. Gerry Brimacombe will provide a written decision to all parties within 48 hours. If this doesn't work...
Step 3 - Repeat step two with Gerry Brimacombe, President. If no resolution is forthcoming...
Step 4 - The parties appoint an outside mediator/arbitrator within 48 hours. Sector will bear the cost of mediation/arbitration.
Sector Learning Solutions cannot be held responsible if these criteria are not fulfilled. This is optional and does not form a requirement of the program.

Discount Policy

Sector Learning Solutions reserves the right to honour only one discount promotion per course. Discount promotions and coupons cannot be combined with other offers.

Privacy

We respect the privacy of every individual who visits our website. We take great measures to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of any personal information on this site.

Use of Personal Information

All personal information supplied will remain within our organization and will not be shared with any external entity unless prior permission is given. Your personal information will not be sold, distributed or published in any manner whatsoever.
